Parmis has a background in developmental neuroscience and molecular biology. As a researcher and laboratory manager at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, she studied the mechanisms behind neural circuit development.

Now, she is exploring pulmonary and critical care medicine, focusing on immune-mediated inflammatory lung diseases and other chronic respiratory conditions. Her research aims to enhance understanding of disease progression and support personalized approaches to diagnosis and treatment.

In her free time, Parmis enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family. She loves trying new restaurants and finding inspiration for recipes, with crème brûlée being her favorite dessert.
